| Did you know that in the 50's, Sears/Roebuck got into the car industry. The "Allstate" was built in 1952 and 1953. It was heavily marketed in the southeast, but was available in the Sears catalog nation wide. |

| The Dodge Spirit RT was the fastest sport sedan in the world in 1991. Dodge made 1208 Spirit RT's in 1991 and 191 in 1992. The car out performed BMW and Mercedes in every test conducted. The Spirit had what was called the 2.2L Turbo III engine. It has a Lotus Head, DOHC, a Getrag A-568 Manuel Transmission, pushing out 224 HP, 5.6 seconds 0-60, and 14.1 in the 1/4 mile. Plus the car still got close to 30 MPG (27 mpg e.p.a.). Some have reported getting into the 30's with the mpg. At least that is according to most reports I have read. Some reports say it did 5.8 seconds 0-60, and 14.5 in the 1/4 mile, still quicker than BMW and Mercedes. The Dodge Spirit RT was and still is a wicked machine. These numbers are impressive even for today's standards. |
